Jets might rest LaDainian Tomlinson

LaDainian Tomlinson has overcome the doubters who said he had nothing left coming into this season. But as the temperatures have dropped, it's clear Tomlinson's gas tank has run dry. He's averaged just 3.3 yards per carry in his past 10 games, surpassing 60 rushing yards in none of them. He hit bottom on Sunday at Chicago as he gained just 28 yards on 13 carries. In an effort to get him re-energized prior to the playoffs, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said he might hold Tomlinson out of the regular-season finale against Buffalo. "That could be a possibility," Ryan said Thursday. "We'll see how he feels." Ryan also said quarterback Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez will indeed start, but wouldn't speculate on how many plays he'll see. He said Sanchez "definitely" wouldn't play the entire game.

Fantasy Analysis:

That means Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight @OfficialJoeJet will handle the backfield duties against the Bills' pathetic run defense. I'm going to guess McKnight will get most of the work since Greene remains an important piece of the team's running game while the rookie McKnight has touched the ball eight times on offense all season. McKnight is a good receiver out of the backfield and with the status of a lot of running backs up in the air, he might be flex-worthy in standard leagues against the Bills. Buffalo has given up the most sixth-fantasy points to RBs this season. Week 17: Where Joe McKnight can win you a fantasy championship.
