Vikings' Favre remains doubtful and Peterson ready to play
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has yet to pass his concussion test and is still doubtful for Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Running back Adrian Peterson
had been listed as questionable with a thigh injury but has been cleared and activated to play. Favre was knocked out of the game by the second quarter last week against the Chicago Bears. When sacked by Bears' defender Corey Wootton, Favre's head slammed on the ground, leaving him dizzy. Peterson missed the game against the Bears and when asked he said the extra two days off "helps a lot."
Fantasy Analysis:
The Vikings can only play the role of spoiler this season. It's been a disappointment since early on in this season so there's no bitter pill to swallow here in Week 16. Favre had a heckuva season in '09 but the combination of poor health and inconsistent WR play has foiled the season. For fantasy owners, the more important news is that Peterson will be back. He's having a great season despite that his numbers are down slightly from his own personal standards. One huge improvement is that he hasn't fumbled all season after fumbling 20 times in his first three seasons a pro. Thirteen of those being fumbles lost.
