Jaguars' Maurice Jones-Drew doubtful for week 16
No Jacksonville Jaguars player has played this year after missing a Friday practice. Unfortunately for many fantasy owners, it looks like that streak will continue in the form of Maurice Jones-Drew
. Jones-Drew missed Friday's practice, didn't participate in practice all week and is listed as doubtful on the team's official injury report. Jones-Drew, who has never missed a game due to injury in his five-year career, is dealing with a knee injury. If he can't play, Rashad Jennings
would start against the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Analysis:
Wow. MJD is a very tough player and this is a crucial game for the Jags, so the doubtful tag is a pretty clear indication that he is in a lot of pain. He should have torched the Colts last week, but ran for just 46 yards on 15 carries, and the team attributed his lack of production to his knee injury. Now, it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The Jaguars-Redskins game is an early kickoff Sunday, so you'll be able to make a move if MJD is indeed inactive. Plan on Jennings being the guy for the Jags' backfield, and he makes a great pick-up-and-play in your championship week. You know Jacksonville is going to run the ball and the Redskins have allowed seven rushing touchdowns to RBs in the past four weeks. Plus, even with MJD taking the majority of the touches in the past three games, Jennings has posted fantasy totals of 11, 11 and 7 points. He's a factor in the passing game and I think he's a fairly solid flex play this week. Don't hesitate to trust him.
