UPDATE: Vikings' Adrian Peterson expects to play Sunday

Update: According to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com in Minnesota, Leslie Frazier described Peterson's injuries Wednesday as "very, very sore, lots of pain and makes it difficult to turn, twist and do the things Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson does." Peterson didn't practice today. Again, I'm not too worried yet. But he needs to do something Thursday. ---- Adrian Peterson is confident he will do something this week that he didn't do in week 15: Play. It's still early in the week, the Vikings have said they are being careful with Peterson's thigh and knee injuries and he didn't practice Wednesday. But fear not, Peterson owners. Adrian took to his Twitter account today to calm your worries, saying "I'm rehabbing. Fully expect to go on Sunday." Peterson was expected to play Monday against the Chicago Bears, but he was a late scratch after interim head coach Leslie Frazier didn't like what he saw from Peterson during pregame warm-ups. The Vikings play at Philadelphia on Sunday night.

Fantasy Analysis:

Of course, we'll see if he can practice tomorrow or Friday. Even though it's common for heavily used runners to rest a couple of days during the practice week and still suit up on Sunday, it would be a huge positive if Peterson can take part in even limited practice tomorrow. You'll remember that last week he missed the first two days of practice before going through Saturday's drills, but that wasn't enough to get him active. As of right now, both the team and Peterson are showing different levels of optimism that he will play, so expect to deploy Peterson against the Eagles with no second thoughts. If he can't go, rookie Toby Gerhart would get his second consecutive start.
