Packers' Rodgers is doubtful
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers
is listed as doubtful after suffering his second concussion of the season against the Detroit Lions. Rodgers has not practiced this week. Head coach Mike McCarthy said although Rodgers is progressing, it's possible that the Packers go with backup Matt Flynn. But McCarthy has stopped short of a full announcement regarding who will be the starter and hopes to make a decision later on Saturday or at game-time. "Number one, he has to be cleared medically, and Dr. John Gray will have the final say on that," McCarthy said. "And if he does make it to that point, then myself will make a decision on whether he plays or not. Right now, he's still working through the medical part."
Fantasy Analysis:
Considering Rodgers is doubtful, not many guys on the year play when they've got that status. For Rodgers owners, unless you are able to tweak your roster just before the game, or whenever the news is announced, it's too risky at this point. Green Bay definitely needs them out there and I'm sure Rodgers is fully aware of that. The Packers are still fighting for a playoff spot in the NFC. Flynn is a third-year player out of LSU. He's never had a start in the NFL so for anyone looking for a sneaky good fantasy play, it's probably not here.
