Chiefs' Matt Cassel practices Wednesday
This is probably bad news for Brodie Croyle fans and fantasy owners who were looking forward to starting the Rams' defense in week 15, but Matt Cassel seems to be on track to play Sunday. One week after his appendectomy, Cassel was on the practice field Wednesday. Chiefs head coach Todd Haley described his activity as "barely limited," but refused to name him the starter this early in the week. Cassel told Arrowhead Pride he doesn't really know what his chances are of playing in week 15. The last week's operation forced Cassel to sit out against the Chargers. Croyle stepped in and led the offense to 67 total yards as Kansas City lost, 31-0.
Fantasy Analysis:
Dwayne Bowe
owners can only hope Cassel is good to go. We've seen that entire offense becomes dangerous to trust if Cassel isn't in the lineup -- who would have thought that would be the case four months ago? Cassel was officially listed as "limited" in practice Wednesday, but it's always more noteworthy when an injured player in on the field today as opposed to not. I'll be more alarmed if he misses Thursday's or Friday's session, but you should plan on having him back against St. Louis. That makes Bowe an easy top-10 WR option. Cassel is probably best left as a QB2 if he's active.
