Chargers' Jackson expected to play Thursday night
When San Diego face the San Francisco 49ers in their Thursday Night Football game, the Chargers expect to have wide receiver Vincent Jackson
ready to play. He is currently being bothered by a calf injury but fully intends to play regardless. Jackson was able to play this past Sunday with the same injury and had two receptions for 29 yards. Jackson hasn't played for almost the entire season due to a contract holdout and then having to serve a three-game suspension. He first played against the Indianapolis Colts on November 28, but suffered the calf injury after just two plays.
Fantasy Analysis:
For those who saw Jackson on the field this past weekend, you know what's up. Jackson was pumped. Any play he made, he showed big emotion. He's putting everything into these games. There may be a negative stigma attached to his name since he held out for this long, but Jackson is a great player and guy with integrity. For those who have possibly held onto him all season or added him late, it's tough to suddenly stick him in the lineup at this critical time of year. But trust your instincts. He is San Diego's top receiver, he's going to put up numbers in at least one game before the season ends. Everybody has seen that no matter who the receivers are, Phillip Rivers is going to make it happen with him. Consider Jackson as a solid WR3 or flex option this week across all formats.
