Chiefs unsure of Cassel's status

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel's status remains unknown for this Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Cassel had an emergency appendectomy last week and did not play in the Chiefs road loss to the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs were shut out in defeat, 31-0. When asked, Cassel says he feels day to day. "Wednesday we'll know a lot more," Chiefs coach Todd Haley said on whether Cassel would be able to play against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Despite last week's loss, the Chiefs remain in the lead by one game in the AFC West. With three games remaining on the schedule, the Chiefs control their own destiny.

Fantasy Analysis:

Backup quarterback Brodie Croyle is now 0-10 as a starter in the NFL which further illustrates what this team has in Cassel. He's put up fantastic numbers this year and considering the Chiefs were held scoreless, they obviously needed Cassel out there on the field. He has passed for over 2,500 yards, 23 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Cassel will see how he is feeling during the week and this situation should clear itself up over the next few days. Even with a one-game lead, these games are basically all must-win for Kansas City. The pressure will be on Cassel to come out and play so keep that in mind moving forward.
