Saints' Chris Ivory not expected to miss time
Hamstring injuries can linger, that's for sure. Chris Ivory
's own hamstring injury forced him from Sunday's win against St. Louis. So in an effort to keep it from becoming a long-term problem, the Saints decided to play it safe.
"Chris Ivory had a hamstring that wasn't getting any looser," Saints head coach Sean Payton said after the game. "He felt like it was troubling him early in that half, so we held him out."
Ivory rushed seven times for 47 yards before being sidelined for good. He spent most of the second half on an exercise bike before coaches told him to give it a rest. Pierre Thomas
and Reggie Bush
carried the load for the rest of the day. Ivory is not expected to miss this week's game at Baltimore.
Fantasy Analysis:
Thomas got 16 touches against the Rams, Bush got 14 and neither of them did anything spectacular. Thomas had the best fantasy day of the group with a simple 68 yards from scrimmage. Even if Ivory practices during the week and is active Sunday, I would be wary of anyone here. It's clear the Saints think Thomas is healthy and you know Bush will be involved on third downs. How much can be left for Ivory? Ten or so touches? Against the Ravens' tough run defense, which has permitted just one running back score since week six, that's hardly flex-worthy.
