Seahawks' Butler breaks leg, out for season

According to the Seattle Times, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Deon Butler broke his leg and will have surgery in the Bay area. Butler broke his leg on a two-yard touchdown catch towards the end of Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. On the play, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck slowly rolled to his right and found Butler for the score. As Butler caught the ball, he was hit in one direction while it appears his leg slammed into a player running the opposite direction. After the play, he immediately grabbed his leg. Teammate Ruvell Martin ran over to him and could see a bump in his leg from where his leg had broken. "All I could do was just give him my hand say a prayer for him and try and comfort him as much as I could."

Fantasy Analysis:

This is another tough loss at the wide receiver position for the Seattle Seahawks. They entered Sunday's game without receivers Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu. Seattle is currently tied for the NFC West lead with the St. Louis Rams but with this loss to the 49ers, San Francisco pulled within a game of both teams. With Butler out, Seattle could be very thin at the position for their remaining games if Williams and Obomanu cannot play. Considering the weight of these final games, including a season finale against the 49ers, someone needs to step up in place of Butler.
