Broncos sign Hauschka, Prater out
Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos signed kicker Steven Hauschka. Prater had been listed as questionable due to a groin injury according to the Denver Post. "It's been bothering me for about two weeks," Prater said, speaking of his groin injury. "It stinks (not playing in Arizona) because I hear it's going to be nice and warm down there." Hauschka is a third-year player who was previously on the Baltimore Ravens in his first two years. In order to make room for Hauschka on their active roster, the Broncos waived offensive lineman Stanley Daniels.
Fantasy Analysis:
Prater was one of the more highly rated kickers entering the season since he made 30 field goals last season. Denver's offense hasn't been quite as good this year, but Prater had converted on 16 of 18 attempts for a career-best 88.9 percentage. Hauschka isn't much of a free-agent add since he likely will only play one week. But with that being said, for those who may need a kicker, Arizona has a very poor defense. In fact, on the season thus far, Arizona is allowing the most fantasy points to kickers this season. They've allowed a league high 41 attempts so there should be at least a couple field goal attempts for Hauschka this week.
