Texans' Owen Daniels will play, Ravens' Todd Heap will not Monday night

The most important injury news for fantasy owners in Monday night's game between Baltimore and Houston come out of the same position. What isn't identical is the playing status of Todd Heap @ToddHeap86 and Owen Daniels @owendaniels. Heap has been ruled out because of a hamstring injury he suffered on the first play of last week's loss to Pittsburgh. He didn't practice all week and will be replaced in the Ravens' starting lineup by rookie Ed Dickson @EdDickson84. He caught a season-high three passes for 21 yards against the Steelers. Daniels, however, will play. He missed the past five weeks because of a hamstring injury, but he was present at all three days of practice and is listed as probable on the Texans' injury report. Joel Dressen is expected to get the start, and he and Daniels will likely split snaps. The balky hamstring and a slow recovery from offseason knee surgery have ruined Daniels' 2010 season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Dickson is probably the only player I'd care to start out of this situation. Daniels and Dreessen will cannibalize each other's value, and the Ravens have allowed the fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Meanwhile, the Texans have allowed the most, so Dickson is worth a look. He got some targets last week and should expect a few extra in week 14. One other thing working in Dickson's favor is that his game will be played in ideal conditions, something you can't say about a handful of games this weekend. He's a borderline TE1 in 12-team leagues.
