Cardinals going with John Skelton at QB

Max Hall is out for the year. Derek Anderson @DAnderson314 hasn't been cleared to play after suffering a concussion. So the Arizona Cardinals, with a year-long QB situation that's about as comical as Red Skelton, will put John Skelton @johnskelton19 under center for Sunday's game versus the Denver Broncos. Skelton, who will represent the NFL's 54th starting quarterback this season and the third for the Cardinals, took the first-team snaps all week during practice and admitted that he will be anxious when game day arrives. "There will be nerves but they will be tempered a little bit because I did get to play last week," Skelton told the Arizona Republic. "But at the same time, it's my first start. I'm not a guy who gets real nervous but I'll probably be real anxious." After Anderson and Hall were forced out, Skelton made his NFL debut against the Rams in week 13. He completed three of six passes for 45 yards. Richard Bartel will be his primary backup after he signed this week. The Cardinals hope Anderson can be their emergency No. 3 quarterback.

Fantasy Analysis:

There's not much I can say to the owners of Larry Fitzgerald @LarryFitzgerald, who's basically the only notable fantasy player affected by this news. I'll just repeat what I said when Hall became the starter: It can't get any worse, right? Skelton and Fitzgerald hooked up for a 19-yard reception last week, so we do know that he can get the ball to Larry in some capacity. Now if he could that about five more times per game, Fitzgerald's owners would be happy. But I'm still not optimistic. Steve Breaston @SBreaston15 is only for those of you who have absolutely no other options.
