Vikings' Favre will be a game-time decision, limited practice on Friday
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre will be a game-time decision in this week's game against the New York Giants. The Minnesota coaching staff is "optimistic" and "hopeful" that Favre (multiple injuries) will play. If he does play, this would mark Favre's 298th straight regular season start. Head coach Leslie Frazier confirmed Favre's status as a game-time decision. Favre did not throw and was limited during practice on Friday. Favre is currently listed as questionable. Favre has a sprained SC joint in his right throwing shoulder. He took four snaps during practice and handed the ball off with his left. He also did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. "If he could go out in pregame much like we did with Adrian [Peterson's ankle] last week, and he moved around and threw the ball well, yeah, we'd put him out there if it looked good enough for us to do it both medically and from a physical standpoint," Frazier said.
Fantasy Analysis:
Hard to imagine that Favre would miss a game at this stage in his career. Sure, he's banged up but 298 straight starts? One has to feel that is he will play no matter what. Minnesota has won two straight and three out of their last five games. Mathematically, the Vikings could still make the playoffs but it is highly unlikely. The Giants are still trying to secure a spot in the playoffs as well, so they have just as much to play for, if not more. In case he can't play, backup quarterback Tavaris Jackson will play. He filled-in last week and threw for 187 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
