Ryan Torain expected to play for Redskins
At this point, does it matter that Mike Shanahan won't name his starting running back? I hope not, because he won't before Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star. With that said, the Redskins should have Ryan Torain
, Keiland Williams
and James Davis
all on the field in week 14. Torain has practiced all week with no setbacks from the hamstring injury that has held him out of action since week 10. Williams has picked up the starts for Torain, but if you exclude his monster, three-touchdown, garbage-time effort against the Eagles, he has gained just 152 yards from scrimmage on 43 touches since. He also has scored since week 10. Davis has played in just three games this year, but is coming off an 81-yard game on 12 touches and looks to be the much better running back.
Fantasy Analysis:
But you should know better than to invest in any part of this debacle, especially during the fantasy playoffs. These are Mike Shanahan's running backs, so you can't predict anything and nothing would surprise me. Also note the Bucs were probably the worst run defense in the NFL during the first half of this season; they have drastically improved since the middle of November.
