Bucs' Mike Williams practices Friday
And now here's some news on the other receiving, more fantasy-valuable Mike Williams
. The rookie has been dealing with what head coach Raheem Morris called a sore knee for a while now. There was a tad of doubt over his playing status for week 14, but progress has apparently been made as Williams returned to practice Friday after sitting out Thursday's session for some rest. He is listed as probable on the injury report and expected to play against the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Analysis:
Williams' production has dipped lately as he hasn't surpassed 80 yards in any game since Nov. 7. But it's not like he has been a disaster. He has scored in three of his past five games and has a fantastic matchup against the Redskins, who have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to wideouts. Granted, the numbers have been better lately for this defense. The Redskins haven't given up a touchdown to a wideout in their past three games, but let's consider the opponents. They faced a mixture of Vince Young and Rusty Smith in week 11, the hopeless Brett Favre in week 12, and what I would consider a fluke in week 13 against the Giants. They ran the ball on nearly 60 percent of their plays and were without their top two wide receivers. I think this Mike Williams is a fine WR2 this week.
