Jerry Jones thinks Cowboys' Tony Romo will play in week 16
Who cares if the Dallas Cowboys are just playing out the string or that they have been playing fairly well with Jon Kitna at QB? It's Jerry Jones' team and Jerry Jones wants Tony Romo to play before 2011, and he thinks Romo will do so, specifically week 16 versus Arizona. When asked Friday if Romo will be ready for that Cardinals game on Christmas day, Jones told the Associated Press "In my opinion, he will be." "I want to do anything we can to win those games. [The decision to play Romo] will be based on what gives us the best chance to win," Jones said. "And, when he's ready to go, he's going to be ready. I shouldn't be concerned about additional injury to his shoulder." Romo has been out of action since breaking his collarbone Oct. 25. The Cowboys took a awe-inspiring nosedive right after that injury. But they have won three of their past four games. Jones thinks putting Romo back on the field would help the team end the season on a high note. "I can envision a scenario where you have a little better taste in your mouth if he came back, and he played the last two games and played lights out than if he hadn't played," Jones said.
Fantasy Analysis:
Last I heard, Romo was still experiencing pain while throwing the ball. While Jones would like to have him back, I'm sure the team won't take any chances unless he's 100 percent. If he's available in your league, I guess Romo isn't a horrible pickup, but it's no guarantee that he'll be 100 percent two weeks from now and would you really feel comfortable about starting him during your league's championship weekend after a nine-week layoff?
