Colts bring back Dominic Rhodes

Joseph Addai still has nerve damage in his shoulder. Mike Hart @MHart2032 re-injured his left ankle Sunday. Donald Brown @Donaldb31 joined him on the sidelines by the end of the Dallas game with his own ankle injury. All three may not play Thursday at Tennessee, so the Colts are turning the clock back to 2008 for some help in their backfield. The team signed 31-year-old Dominic Rhodes on Tuesday. Rhodes, who was cut by the Bills prior to last season, hasn't played in an NFL game in nearly two years. His most recent football action came in the UFL with the Florida Tuskers. This represents Rhodes' third stint with the Colts. He played with them from 2001-2006 and again in 2008. When asked Tuesday about whether Addai will play Thursday, head coach Jim Caldwell said "Potentially, but not certain."

Fantasy Analysis:

Before today's signing, Javarris James @HurricaneJames5 and special-teamer Joique Bell were the only two healthy RBs on Indy's roster. Rhodes' best fantasy season came in 2008, but you can't consider him as an option until we actually see what he has left. The Colts' running game has a nice matchup against the Titans, but it remains to be seen which Colts running back(s) will actually play. Personally, I don't think Addai or Hart are going to be active. I'm more optimistic about Brown, but that depends on what he does in practice. If all three are out, James becomes an interesting pickup. He's been very effective down by the goal line.
