Vikings' Brett Favre sprains throwing shoulder
Maybe, just maybe, Brett Favre saw his consecutive games played streak end after one throw Sunday versus the Bills. Favre was hit from behind and driven to the ground on the Vikings first passing play, suffering a sprained right throwing shoulder. The play appropriately resulted in an interception and Tavaris Jackson took over for the remainder. X-rays showed no broken bones, but Favre said he couldn't have returned if needed. "The X-ray was negative," Favre told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "Nothing's broken, thank goodness. But I have no idea [if I can play next week]. ... I'm not concerned about that right now. We'll see what the MRI says tomorrow." Frazier said after the game that Favre will be his starting quarterback in week 14 if he can actually play. "I would like to play," Favre said. "It's what I came in here for. This is a different injury. I have no idea how I will respond to the week of treatment, so we will see."
Fantasy Analysis:
I pray that this is the end. We'll find out Monday and we'll be sure to let you know. You don't need me to tell you that Favre has been a disaster this season. If he was in your lineup today, that's tough luck, but you should have known better anyway. With Sidney Rice
finally looking healthy, he could be in for a very effective final month with Jackson throwing him the ball. If Favre comes back, I have no choice but to think less of Rice, despite his 22-point fantasy day in week 13.
