Jaguars' Mike Sims-Walker surprisingly ruled out for Sunday

Yesterday, Mike Sims-Walker @MikeSimsWalker didn't practice, but the buzz was he was expected to play. He insisted that the air cast covering his sprained right ankle was purely precautionary. Today, Mike Sims-Walker didn't practice, and he will not play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. So what changed? Not sure, but Sims-Walker's high ankle sprain is bothering him so much that he won't even make the trip to Nashville. "I'm going to stay here and get treatment," Sims-Walker told the Florida Times-Union. "There's no use being out there standing on it watching when I can get treatment." Sims-Walker missed week 11 against the Browns because of the sprain, but he started and lasted through the Jags' loss to the Giants last week. He caught four passes for 48 yards and was targeted 10 times. "When I do get back I don't plan on being 100 percent healthy, feeling like old times," Sims-Walker said. "But when I can tolerate the pain that I'm in, when I can tolerate making the cuts, when I can tolerate that, I'll be ready to go."

Fantasy Analysis:

That last line confuses me because MSW obviously tolerated the pain last week. Reading between the lines, it's clear he has suffered a setback. Thus, Mike Thomas @MikeThomasWR becomes Jacksonville's No. 1 WR for this week and he is a good start in deeper leagues against a faltering Titans defense. And we know about Tennessee's troubles at guarding the tight end lately, so Marcedes Lewis @MarcedesLewis89 is also a high-upside pick. We'll check back next week to see if Sims-Walker can return to face the Raiders in week 14.
