Raiders' Bruce Gradkowski is likely done for the season
A Monday MRI reportedly revealed a third-degree separation of Bruce Gradkowski
's problematic right shoulder and thus, his season is most likely over. The third-degree separation, the most severe kind, is Gradkowski's second this season. He originally injured the shoulder on Sept. 26 and then aggravated it Oct. 10 versus San Diego. That was the day of his first third-degree separation, which caused him to miss the next four games. He returned Sunday only to go down again. He said after the game that he felt comparable to the way he did after the Chargers game.
The MRI also revealed some other damage around the shoulder, but nothing as damaging as the separation. Jason Campbell will retake the reins of the offense. He lost his starting job to Gradkowski after the first two games and then entered when Gradkowsi's shoulder busted against San Diego. In eight games this season, he has thrown six interceptions and seven touchdowns. He has also fumbled nine times, losing only one.
Fantasy Analysis:
I guess if you use recent history as a timetable, Gradkowski has a chance to return in week 17, but I would expect the Raiders to put him on IR soon enough. Campbell is not worth an add unless you are in a dire QB pinch in a very deep league. He doesn't provide an upgrade to Oakland's receiving options -- Zach Miller, Jacoby Ford, Louis Murphy.
