Add Raiders' Zach Miller to list of tight ends with torn plantar fascia
We've seen how debilitating a torn plantar fascia has been for San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates for the past few weeks. Little did we know that he's had company in the form of Oakland Raiders tight end Zach Miller
all along. Miller revealed after Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins that the foot arch injury he's been dealing with since October is actually a torn plantar fascia. It caused him to miss week nine and Miller has caught just four passes for 23 yards in his past three games.
Miller also injured his right leg on Sunday. Head coach Tom Cable called it a "fibula" injury, according to the Contra Costa Times. No word yet on its severity.
Fantasy Analysis:
The only "good" news is that Miller has been dealing with this for a fairly long time and has been able to play with it in the past couple of games. But it's clearly limiting him on the field, as you would expect. He's not able to get open and produce like he was earlier in the season. Miller should be placed on your bench until further notice. The fact that the Raiders have been forced to go back to Jason Campbell behind center probably doesn't help Miller's stock either. The destruction of the tight end position this season has been unbelievable.
