Houston's Johnson and Tennessee's Finnegan ejected for fight
During the fourth quarter of the Tennessee Titans-Houston Texans game, Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson
and Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan
got into a fight and were ultimately ejected for the altercation. On the previous play, the two players talked trash and shoved each other around. On the following play, Finnegan jammed Johnson hard at the line of scrimmage and pushed Johnson's facemask. The two players grabbed each other and flung each other around. After each player had removed the other's helmet as they grabbed each other, Johnson threw punches, some of which connected, at Finnegan. The fight ended very quickly and both players were ejected after penalties were incurred.
Fantasy Analysis:
A fight like this doesn't happen very often but it's hard to imagine that both players will only be fined for this fight. Some kind of suspension seems inevitable, and if not, the fines could be huge. Finnegan didn't punch Johnson but was far from an innocent bystander. Johnson had to be escorted off the field while Finnegan ran off the field while waving sarcastically to the Houston fans. The Texans go on the road to Philadelphia next week, while the Titans face the Jacksonville Jaguars at home. The league will surely act quickly in punishing both players and when that happens, we'll update Andre Johnson's status for next week.
