Raiders' Gradkowski re-injures shoulder
Oakland Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski
re-injured his throwing shoulder during Oakland's 33-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins. According to the Contra Costa Times, Gradkowski said his shoulder felt like when he suffered a third-degree separation in Week 5 in a game against the San Diego Chargers. He missed five weeks after that injury. Gradkowski was filling-in for quarterback Jason Campbell. Gradkowski has thrown for 1,059 passing yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. In games that he has started, the Raiders are 1-3. Oakland is 4-3 in their other seven games.
Fantasy Analysis:
I'm not sure why Oakland insists on using Gradkowski. Campbell may not be much better, but he is an improvement. Gradkowski makes poor decisions and can't stay healthy. With Campbell, the Raiders are at least able to compete and stay close in games, therefore giving them a chance to win. If Gradkowski is out again, Campbell will start next week. Oakland goes on the road to face the San Diego Chargers next week. The Raiders have three divisional games remaining, one against each team. Truth be told, neither quarterback has any serious future in the NFL if the Oakland coaching staff has any sense whatsoever. Both are inaccurate, injury prone and simply unreliable.
