Chargers' Jackson injured in return
San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson
returned from his holdout and suspension Sunday night but during the second quarter, he left the game due to a right calf injury. Jackson reported to the Chargers on October 29 and was activated on November 23. Jackson did not do anything in the game as he only played a few snaps and had no receptions or targets. Since Jackson was out along with wide receiver Patrick Crayton, the Chargers were down to Malcom Floyd, Legedu Naanee, Buster Davis and Seyi Ajirotutu. Tight end Antonio Gates was finally activated for Sunday's game after missing the last two games due to a foot injury.
Fantasy Analysis:
Details are limited so quickly after the game but if it was enough to keep him out of the game, the injury can't be good. For those fantasy owners who took a chance and started Jackson this week, this is the sort of unforeseen situation that made him a risky start. Jackson had a great 2009 season but last year doesn't mean anything now. Until Jackson plays a full game and performs well, fantasy owners should be very hesitant to use him in their starting lineups. For now, add him if he's available and hope for the best. The Chargers host the Oakland Raiders next week.
