Cowboys' Tony Romo out for at least a few more weeks
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo underwent X-rays on Monday to see how his broken collarbone is healing. It wasn't a sign that his recovery is ahead of schedule and the results didn't provide anything overly optimistic. The bone still has a fracture, but is coming back together on course with the initial timetable that stated Romo would miss up to eight weeks. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the team doesn't anticipate Romo being available before Christmas. The Cowboys face the Arizona Cardinals that day.
Fantasy Analysis:
Romo did some light throwing over the weekend, but those of you hoping for a return during the fantasy playoffs will probably get one week out of him, at most. The possibility that he'll be held out for the rest of the season still exists. The Cowboys are playing better under Jason Garrett, but they are not going to the playoffs. With that out of the picture, there would seem to be no reason to throw Romo back into the fire, but owner Jerry Jones has stated that he wants Romo to play, if he can, before the year is over. That may still happen, but it appears anything before week 16 is unlikely. Thus, Jon Kitna remains in the saddle and given his recent production and great receivers, he's just about a top-15 fantasy QB for the rest of the year.
