Lions' Jahvid Best practices on Friday, on track to play
In something that has become routine, Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best
practiced Friday after sitting out Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions. He is expected to start Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. He's been held out of practices because of a turf toe injury he's been sporting for the majority of the season. In the past five games, he has averaged just 2.9 yards per carry and hasn't scored a touchdown since week two.
Fantasy Analysis:
Best still holds a good amount of value in PPR leagues -- he has caught four passes in each of the past six games -- but he is a flex play at best in standards, even against the Cowboys. This is a matchup that would have Best owners hoping for a rebound a few weeks ago. But the Cowboys' defense played with actual effort last week and limited Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs to a pedestrian 90 yards on 25 combined carries. Best's workload -- somewhere between 17 and 20 touches -- makes him worth consideration. But with his injured toes, Detroit's below-average run blocking and Dallas' recently improved attack, you should expect another 70 or so total yards in week 11 and not much more.
A mixture of Jerome Felton
, Maurice Morris and Aaron Brown will chip in alongside Best.
