Dolphins' Chad Pennington done; Chad Henne is day-to-day

We all thought Chad Pennington's third major shoulder injury, which he suffered last season, was the career-ender. So maybe the fourth one is the true death blow. The Dolphins' quarterback dislocated his throwing shoulder during the first play of Sunday's win against Tennessee. He will likely need surgery on that shoulder again and his season is over as he was placed on injured reserve Monday. Early reports stated equally grim news for starter-turned-backup quarterback Chad Henne, but he is currently day-to-day and head coach Tony Sparano said he may be available during Thursday's game versus Chicago. However, Tyler Thigpen @TylerThigpen4 is the likely starter for that contest. The Dolphins signed 2002 first-rounder Patrick Ramsey for insurance on Monday. He has played in just four games since the end of the 2005-06 season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Really disheartening news on Pennington. I mean, how injury-prone can one guy be? He finally gets a chance to play in more than a year after his third right shoulder surgery and it takes just one play for him to require another operation? Wow. Henne's season is not over, but we have no idea right now when he'll play again. Thigpen is worth a bench spot in deep leagues; he looked good late in Sunday's game, targeting tight end Anthony Fasano @Anthony_Fasano often. But I really have no clue what this means for Brandon Marshall @BMarshall. For this Thursday, at least Henne won't be throwing to him; he proved yet again that he can't get the ball to the team's most dangerous receiver.
