Update: Colts' injury situation, Addai doubtful and Hart questionable
Indianapolis Colts running backs Joseph Addai and Mike Hart
both missed practice all week. Addai is listed as doubtful and Hart is listed as questionable. Donald Brown
and Javarris James
will be the starters this week at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Addai has missed the last two games with a neck injury. Last week in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown had 50 yards on 15 carries while James had 12 yards on four carries and two touchdowns. Addai has said earlier in the week that he hopes to return for Week 11. Safety Bob Sanders (biceps) and wide receiver Austin Collie (concussion) are both out. Linebacker Gary Brackett (toe), tight end Brody Eldridge (rib), running back Mike Hart (ankle), defensive tackle Antonio Johnson (knee), offensive tackle Charlie Johnson (back), cornerback Jerraud Powers (foot), linebacker Clint Session (elbow), cornerback Justin Tryon (foot) and wide receiver Blair White (shoulder). Hart is unlikely to play and White is a game-time decision. Tight end Jacob Tamme is not listed on the injury report and will play this weekend.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Colts are undersized on defense, which is what I think causes all these injuries. The Tampa 2 coverage style requires speed and quickness above all else so there aren't too many big, bruising players out there. That's my theory anyway as to why they have so many injuries. In any case, last week Brown had all the carries but James got all the points. That's very frustrating. Can you really start a player who only got four carries last week? I don't think so but that's just my opinion. Brown is the safer and more reliable start this week. Cincinnati is allowing 4.5 yards per carry in the last three weeks and have allowed four rushing touchdowns. All that adds up to the ninth most fantasy points allowed to running backs per game in all of the NFL. James could see an expanded role, but obviously the Colts have more faith in Brown, as should you. As for Blair White, he's not a great play anyway. Tamme and Reggie Wayne got a ton of looks which left table scraps for White and Pierre Garcon. In deeper leagues, he's worth consideration if there is another update stating he will play.
