Vikings' update: Harvin migraine and status unknown for Rice
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin
had another migraine this week, causing him to miss Wednesday's practice. Head coach Brad Childress said that Harvin was not with the team and did not participate in practice. Harvin was diagnosed with sleep apnea in August and was given a machine to help him breathe while sleeping. Since then, the migraines have been occurring less. Harvin played last week on a sprained ankle but still had nine receptions for 126 yards in the Vikings' overtime win over the Arizona Cardinals. Wide receiver Sidney Rice
's status for this Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears is still unknown. Rice had offseason hip surgery and has yet to play a down this season. "I don't think it's realistic to think that he can come right in and go 60 or 70 plays right away," Childress said. "Kind of what the traffic will bear. Every guy is different. He's been cleared for all activities right now, so the minute he feels like he can play, he can play."
Fantasy Analysis:
Harvin owners go through this sort of thing every week. There's always some issue, but he's got to be started after a great game against the Cardinals. He's played on a bad ankle, through migraines and who knows what else. As for Sidney Rice, grab him if he's available in your league and you've got a free spot. He was huge last year and this could be great timing for the Vikings' offense. He may need a game or two to get things going and get back in football shape, but he could be poised for a great run for the fantasy playoffs schedule. Don't forget, the Vikings had one of the best offenses last season and if they even approach that level this season with everyone healthy, their whole offensive roster gets a huge bump up in their projections and production.
