Lions' Matthew Stafford doesn't think he will play in week 10

It looks like Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford @Staff_9 will be sidelined with yet another shoulder injury. He injured his right shoulder during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Jets. Surgery is not an option "at this point," according to head coach Jim Schwartz. But when asked during a radio interview if he could play Sunday versus the Bills, Stafford said: "I don't think so." A right shoulder separation forced Stafford to miss five games earlier this season, but this is a new injury. He was replaced by Drew Stanton @drewstanton yesterday. Shaun Hill was the No. 3 quarterback for the game, but Schwartz said he "could potentially be ready" to return after fracturing his left forearm a couple of weeks ago.

Fantasy Analysis:

Stafford turned in a very nice fantasy stat line against the Jets, so this is really tough news as he should have done well against the Bills as well. Schwartz refused to call his QB injury-prone, but I think fantasy gamers would scoff at that statement. If Hill is able to play, he's worth an add in deep leagues. He put up some decent numbers during his stint as starter in weeks 2-6 and was able to get the ball to Calvin Johnson. Drew Stanton could be a completely different story.
