Bills' Andra Davis out against Chicago

Buffalo Bills starting middle linebacker and fourth-leading tackler Andra Davis has been ruled out this week against the Chicago Bears due to a torn labrum (shoulder). Davis had been playing through the injury since the first game of the season against Miami. Head coach Chan Gailey said about the injury,"Let's wait and get further down the road on that. They're looking at (Davis) more, but it's going to be hard, I think. It may be awhile, we'll have to make that decision." This sort of injury could cause Davis to miss multiple weeks. Backup linebacker Akin Ayodele, who has 26 tackles on the season in limited action, will likely fill-in for Davis while he is sidelined.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Bills have been struggling with injuries to their two inside linebackers, Davis and Paul Posluszny. Posluszny missed Weeks 2 and 3 due to injury with Ayodele filling in for him then as well. The Bills run a 3-4 defense so they do have pretty good depth at the position but Buffalo isn't exactly great on defense to begin with. This injury puts a lot of pressure on safety Donte Whitner, who is already relied upon to come down closer to the line of scrimmage on running plays. Whitner currently leads the team with 64 total tackles and any issues in the front seven will just make things more difficult on a defensive secondary that's one of the most porous in the NFL this season.
