Packers' Clay Matthews probable this week against Dallas
The NFL's league leader in sacks, Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews
is listed as probable this week to play at home against the Dallas Cowboys. Matthews started the season red-hot with six sacks in his first two games and has since had another 3.5 sacks. Matthews single-handedly accounts for 40% of the team's sacks so having him on the field is a must. Green Bay already has eight players on injured reserve as well as two players, safety Atari Bigby and cornerback Al Harris out this week. Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett is also listed as questionable with a calf injury. Green Bay had one of the league's best fantasy defenses entering the season and have persevered considering they still have a top five fantasy defense.
Fantasy Analysis:
Green Bay is known for having a ton of talent on offense, led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Greg Jennings. But injuries have really hit them hard, the two most notable injuries on offense coming to running back Ryan Grant and tight end Jermichael Finley. It's really a testament to the coaching and depth at Green Bay that they're still able to have a 5-3 record and lead the NFC North. This week, they face the Dallas Cowboys who are going through their own injury crisis this season. It's a really contrasting situation as both teams have been hit by the injury bug yet Dallas has fallen off a cliff in terms of wins and losses while the Packers are still in the thick of the race for a top-two seed in the playoffs.
