Seahawks' Mike Williams returns to full practice Friday, listed as probable

The biggest detriment to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams @BigMikeWill17 this Sunday won't be the knee bruise that kept him absent from Wednesday's and Thursday's practice. Williams practiced fully Friday and head coach Pete Carroll called his day "excellent." "You wouldn't even know he was banged up," he said of Williams. Williams said the knee is not at full strength but it shouldn't force him out of week nine's home game versus the New York Giants. He is listed as probable on the injury report. "I feel like I got stability and I'm not worried about it getting worse," Williams said. "I'm sure [the trainers] will whip up some sort of pad to cover it up." Williams' bigger concern is his lack of practice time with new starting quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, who is filling in for the concussed Matt Hasselbeck. But the two got some work in together Friday. Williams said he and Whitehurst are a work in progress. "It's a timing thing," Williams said. "I was out of practice all week, so to be out there today just to get adjusted to [Whitehurst's] speed was a little different. He throws the ball a little different. It's coming out faster and with a lot more zip. It will almost knock you over."

Fantasy Analysis:

Williams put up a couple of impressive games before last week's one-catch disappointment at Oakland. I have no idea how his connection with Whitehurst will be, but against the Giants' defense and in a one-on-one matchup with solid cornerback Corey Webster, I don't like Williams' chances. He's a flex play in deep leagues, but he could burn you yet again.
