Cardinals' Beanie Wells optimistic he will play Sunday

Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells took more reps during Friday's practice than in the previous two days and told reporters that he's going to play Sunday against Minnesota. Wells was limited on Wednesday and Thursday because of an allergic reaction to an injection in his surgically repaired knee, which caused swelling. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt also likes Wells' prospects to participate this weekend. "He did a lot more in practice today," Whisenhunt said of Wells. "As long as there's no issues with any kind of swelling tomorrow, which he felt good after practice no problems, I would anticipate he'll be fine." Wells is listed as questionable to play on the team's official injury report.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Vikings haven't been their usually stout selves against the run this season, but they are still fairly decent. With so many good RBs on bye this week, you'll probably have to use Wells as a low-end No. 2 running back. That's fine since he's an OK bet to notch a short TD for the third week in a row. Just don't expect much room to run until Derek Anderson proves he can provide a consistent passing attack without throwing it to the other team ever so often. Tim Hightower @Tim_Hightower and LaRod Stephens-Howling @LS_H36 could also be involved.
