Saints' Pierre Thomas: 'I feel pain all over my ankle'

Pierre Thomas @Pierre_Thomas' owners are probably sick of waiting for their man to return to the field. And while there has been speculation that he'll be ready after the Saints' week 10 bye, his words during a 10-minute meeting on the Thursday give no reason to be optimistic. "They found something else, I believe," Thomas said when asked if doctors misdiagnosed his sprained left ankle. "They just told me, 'Hey, for now, stay off of it 'cause it seemed like the times when I was doing rehab it wasn't working.' "I feel pain all over my ankle. When you touch it, I feel pain all over my ankle. [Doctors] touch different spots, I say, 'Yeah, I feel it there, I feel it there, I feel it there.' So, I really messed it up. They say I really messed it up pretty bad." Thomas hasn't played since injuring the ankle Sept. 26. He said his doctors haven't discussed surgical options and he doesn't want to think about it. Thomas will get around using crutches until next week. Then he will walk on his own, but with the ankle in a boot.

Fantasy Analysis:

Something else? Oy vey! Right now, it seems extremely unlikely that Thomas will be back for week 11. For his doctors to set any timetable would be unprofessional. All Thomas can do is sit back and rest. It's going to be a long while. Even when he's cleared, where will Thomas fit in among Reggie Bush, Chris Ivory and even Ladell Betts or Julius Jones? How will that crowded house become organized? His fantasy value for the rest of the year is extremely low.
