Jason Campbell will get another start for Raiders
For yet another week, Bruce Gradkowski
is close, but no cigar. Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable announced Thursday that Jason Campbell will be his starting quarterback Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be Campbell's third start in a row.
Campbell has led the offense to extraordinary feats lately. In the past two weeks with Campbell at the helm, the Raiders have put together consecutive 500-yard offensive performances for the first time in franchise history.
Gradkowski has been out of action since sustaining a shoulder injury in week five. Cable said Gradkowski is getting closer to playing, but he can't "do everything he needs to do" to be the starter.
Fantasy Analysis:
Cable has repeatedly said Gradkowski is his quarterback once he's ready to get back on the field. But with how Campbell is directing the team and if he wins a very important road game this week, he could -- or really, he should -- see more starts come his way, no matter how Gradkowski is feeling. Fantasy-wise, Campbell hasn't been especially accurate in the past two games, but he's putting up servicible numbers. He's a low-end QB2 this week, but it could be worse. Just don't expect more than 25 pass attempts; this game will be all about the running backs.
