Titans awarded with Randy Moss off waivers

Randy Moss is a Tennessee Titan. The team with the No. 22 waiver priority was apparently the only team to put a claim in for the hard-to-handle wideout. But now he's the Titans' problem. Moss became Titans property at 4 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday when his time on the waiver wire expired. He is expected to report soon to the team, which is on a bye in week nine. His first game in the blue and white will most likely take place Nov. 14 at Miami. Other teams who were reportedly interested in Moss include the Dolphins, Redskins, Raiders, Seahawks and Rams. But in the end, the Titans' low priority number was enough to land Randy.

Fantasy Analysis:

So Moss will go through a bye week this season after all. I think Chris Johnson @ChrisJohnson28 is the player who benefits the most from this deal. Sure, Moss goes from no team to No. 1 WR again, but I think his connection with Vince Young @VinceYoung will be hit-and-miss. He'll get his long receptions and a handful of touchdowns (It should be noted Tennessee faces a bunch of weak pass defenses after its bye). But, much like in Minnesota, I don't think the consistent numbers will be there. He's still a top-10 fantasy WR, but I think he's around the bottom of that list. It's a better move in real football than fantasy, which brings me back to Chris Johnson. Moss' presence takes at least one defender out of the box, keying on the explosive back. Who knows what Johnson will be able to do with that extra room and less attention, but I think the results from here on out will be more positive than his recent sub-par outings by his standards. The Moss acquisition may mean good things for Nate Washington, but to a lesser extent. He's still not a great player. And this also means Kenny Britt @KennyBritt_18 will not be rushed back onto the field. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Monday Britt's hamstring injury is not season-ending; the Moss move may have brought Britt's season to an effective finish.
