Vikings' Brad Childress likes Percy Harvin's chances to play Sunday
It was reported Monday that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin
may have suffered a serious ankle injury early in Sunday's loss to New England. Although it caused him to miss just one series, Harvin was reportedly limping badly after the game and said he was in a lot of pain. Yet, it doesn't appear to be too serious as head coach Brad Childress isn't betting against Harvin playing in week nine versus Arizona. "[Harvin is] in treating," Childress said Tuesday. "We'll have to see how he comes back again tomorrow. He actually [got hurt] on his first route of the night, first catch. Caught a slant, took it up the middle, rolled that ankle. He obviously came back and was productive throughout the rest [of the game]. Chances are he's going to find a way to get on the field this week."
Fantasy Analysis:
It sounds like Harvin will become a game-time decision, but you should tentatively plan to have him available if you need him. Don't be alarmed if you hear about him missing some practices. Outside of the injury, it'll be interesting to see if Harvin can continue producing the solid numbers he has put up over the past month or if the loss of Randy Moss turns into a frequently lost No. 1 WR once again. Whatever happens, he has a very nice matchup this week against the hapless Cardinals. He's worth a start in 12-team leagues.
