Chargers' Vincent Jackson signs tender and reports to team

After months of holding out, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson @VincentTJackson has signed a one-year tender and reported to his team. San Diego placed Jackson on the roster exempt list, which means he is suspended for another 3 games. The earliest he could play is against the Indianapolis Colts on November 28. The Chargers currently will be without wide receiver Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee. Backup receivers Richard Goodman and Buster Davis are both listed as questionable. The only receiver with any experience who is fully healthy is Patrick Crayton. Chargers general manager A.J. Smith said, "I'm happy Vincent is here," said General Manager A.J. Smith in a statement. "I have no doubt he will go to work, work hard and quickly get into game-shape. Once he starts playing in games, I don't think it will take him long for him to be a contributor and help us."

Fantasy Analysis:

It wouldn't surprise me if Jackson just choose not to play. There's not telling what kind of shape he is in until he goes out and plays a game. He hasn't played a snap in nearly nine months. In any case, the Chargers need all the help they can get. Defensive and special teams woes are really holding the team back. Despite piling up yards on offense and limiting their opponents' yardage, San Diego seems to find a way to lose each and every week. Jackson would immediately come in and start if he's healthy and willing. He was amongst the top 10 fantasy receivers last year and probably deserved some extra compensation from his team. But as the holdout has illustrated, the Chargers won't be bullied and neither will Jackson.
