News isn't getting any better on the Pierre Thomas front for Saints

If Sean Payton didn't like the pace of Pierre Thomas @Pierre_Thomas' rehab before Thursday, hopefully he didn't read anything today. The New Orleans Saints running back has been told by doctors to get back in a walking boot and slow down his workouts. Thomas, who has been out since week four with a high ankle sprain, talked to reporters Thursday while sporting the boot and leaning on a pair of crutches. "I'm upset," Thomas said. "That's all I can really say. I'm just upset. I don't know how far along I am. I don't know what's going to happen. All I'm hoping and praying for is my ankle to get a lot better. "I really don't know what's the whole problem. .... I was told to stay off my foot. So that's what I'm doing with the crutches and in the boot. They told me to take a little pressure off it, be on crutches for a little while and just see how it does."

Fantasy Analysis:

It's very likely that we won't see Thomas until the Saints get back from their week-10 bye. But even that's no guarantee. Almost five weeks after the initial injury, it sounds like progress has been minimal. And even when Thomas does return, how much work will he get? With Reggie Bush @ReggieBush nearing a return to the field and Chris Ivory @ivory33 putting up decent numbers, it's really anyone's guess as to how much of a fantasy impact Thomas will make for the rest of the season.
