UPDATE: After review, Raiders' Louis Murphy is not so OK

UPDATE: Tom Cable said Wednesday that Louis Murphy @murph918's bruised lung could keep him out for a couple of weeks. I wrote earlier tonight that Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy was assumed to be fine after some initial reports stated that he aggravated his clavicle injury during Sunday's win over Denver. Head coach Tom Cable said Murphy's latest ailment was just a bruised chest and he would play in week eight. But those assumptions came before Murphy's MRI results were clear. Unfortunately for Cable and the Raiders, Murphy bruised something lying inside his chest. Specifically, Murphy has a bruised lung and, according to profootballtalk.com, is expected to miss Sunday's home game against the Seattle Seahawks. Fourth-round rookie Jacoby Ford is expected to see increased snaps as a result.

Fantasy Analysis:

I should have waited for the MRI to come back before updating Murphy's status. Regardless, Murphy should have been on your bench anyway and should stay there until he does something to prove he deserves to start on any fantasy team. He may play again in week nine, but that should impact a lot of fantasy teams. As I said earlier, he has just six catches and 99 yards in the past four games. I don't think it's any coincidence that his slump has coincided with his clavicle injury, which he suffered Sept. 26. The Raiders' passing game should continue to be ignored except for tight end Zach Miller.
