Saints' Reggie Bush 'highly unlikely' to play

New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush @ReggieBush is highly unlikely to play this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bush did not practice on Wednesday and instead, did some light exercise such as using a stair climber and stationary bike. "We just keep taking it day to day and monitoring the progress, monitoring the next day after the workout and kind of go from there," Payton said. Bush has not played since Week 3. A league source told Jason La Canfora of NFL.com that it is "highly unlikely" Bush plays this weekend.

Fantasy Analysis:

A lot of analysts are pushing the idea that the reason the Saints aren't playing up to expectations is because Bush is so versatile and such. But the Saints are without many key starters on both sides of the ball. Starting cornerbacks Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer, strong safety Roman Harper, defensive end Will Smith, running back Pierre Thomas, linebacker Scott Shanle have all missed time this season. While Bush does force defenses to account for him doing multiple things, a single utility player does not make or break a football team. That being said, something needs to be done with the Saints' offense and getting Bush back certainly can only help matters. Quarterback Drew Brees is forced to throw the ball at least 40 times every game as New Orleans struggles to establish a run game.
