Buccaneers to use Cadillac Williams, LaGarrette Blount in RB rotation

One week after being a healthy scratch, Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LaGarrette Blount led the team in carries against the St. Louis Rams. That may become a trend. "We're excited about [Blount's] first outing, and we think he'll get better as we go along, so there's no reason not to believe he will be a guy who will continue to carry the ball for us," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said Monday. Blount carried the ball 11 times for 72 yards while Cadillac Williams got just 4 carries and gained 12 yards. However, Williams played a major role on passing downs. He caught eight passes, including the game-winning touchdown with 10 seconds to play.

Fantasy Analysis:

Williams has now caught 15 passes in the last two games, so he holds some nice value in PPR leagues. But Blount looks to be the main runner for the Bucs right now. He is a big guy who ran with tremendous power against the Rams. He averaged more than six yards per carry and had a 46-yard gain called back due to a penalty. He's also a typical choice for short yardage and goal-line situations, so I think Blount could be a nice flex selection in 12-teamers depending on the matchup and should be owned in most leagues right now. In the immediate future, the Bucs will travel to Arizona and take on the Cardinals this Sunday. Especially with six teams on bye, that's the kind of matchup in which Blount could be very useful.
