Titans' Kenny Britt will play but won't start as punishment for bar fight
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt
will not be in the starting lineup Sunday as punishment for his role in a bar fight early Friday morning. However, head coach Jeff Fisher said Britt won't be benched for the entire game.
"Without all the information this close to the ballgame I'm going to go ahead and allow Kenny to play," Fisher said. "I'll continue to gather information, and if I feel like disciplinary action needs to be taken, I'll do it next week."
Witnesses say Britt joined in a fight between two men in a Nashville bar at about 1:45 a.m. Friday. He reportedly punched one of the men in the face, causing him to receive four stitches at the emergency room. Britt has not been arrested or charged in what police are calling an "open misdemeanor assault investigation."
Fantasy Analysis:
Just great. While Britt's yardage totals have remained low, he has become a touchdown machine with Vince Young behind center. I would take the safe route and bench Britt. Sure, he may be out for the first couple of plays or the first drive. But he could be out for the first half. Or this could be a ruse by the Titans and they might keep him on the sidelines as a DNP (coach's decision). With Young very questionable to play, why take the risk of a goose egg from Britt? Put someone else in your lineup who YOU KNOW will start. Nate Washington and Justin Gage are slated to start for Tennessee.
