Chargers' Floyd and Naanee listed as doubtful

San Diego Chargers starting wide receivers Malcolm Floyd and Legedu Naanee @naanee11 are both listed as doubtful for their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. Both players have sustained hamstring injuries and have missed every practice this week. Backup receiver Buster Davis is also unlikely to play. This leaves former Dallas Cowboys receiver Patrick Crayton @pcrayton12 the lone veteran that is available to start on the team. The Chargers are likely to promote practice squad receiver Seyi Ajirotutu to the active roster. Tight end Antonio Gates is also listed as questionable.

Fantasy Analysis:

If it's not already clear to fantasy football gurus, some offenses just need professional football players in order to make it work. Some people downgraded quarterback Philip Rivers when it looked like Vincent Jackson was going to miss most of this season. Well as things have played out, Floyd has done an excellent job replacing him. This offense can succeed with almost anybody in place. Sure, Jackson and Floyd are talented players but so is Crayton. Not only that, Crayton makes a great fill-in this week for fantasy owners who need a third receiver or flex option. Everybody knows the Chargers are going to throw the ball, so why not to Crayton? He had six receptions for 117 yards last week and it isn't as though the New England secondary has been all that great either. Floyd and Naanee should be back next week.
