Titans' Vince Young says decision to play will be made Sunday
The Titans and Vince Young
himself have spoken rather optimistically regarding the player's ability to play in week seven. Young said he could have re-entered Monday's game against Jacksonville if he was needed. He said after the game that he will play this week versus Philadelphia. And head coach Jeff Fisher said Young could still play even if he misses all practices. But the concrete answer to whether Vince will actually suit up won't be known until Sunday morning; Young insinuated as much in some Thursday comments.
"It is day to day still, and making that decision on Sunday," said Young, who is receiving a lot of treatment but has done no running on his sprained knee. "I just want to continue to keep treating it and see how it feels. But I am getting better every day."
Fantasy Analysis:
Kerry Collins hurt a finger on his throwing hand during his relief work Monday. It forced him to sit Wednesday, but he was back at practice Thursday and said he felt fine. Right now, he is probably the safest bet if you had to choose a Titans starting quarterback. We'll see what Young does, if anything, Friday. His inactivation would be bad news for the Titans' wide receivers, especially Kenny Britt. He and Young have had a great connection lately, which continued into the early stages of the Jacksonville game with two catches and a touchdown on the game's first drive. But Collins looked for him just four times and all attempts fell incomplete. Tight end Bo Scaife missed practice Thursday, but if he plays and Collins starts, Scaife is another guy to look at for those of you in a tight end rut this week.
