It's official: Jason Campbell back as Raiders' starting QB
Oakland Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski
showed some progress during Friday's practice, is listed as questionable on the injury report and may play in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. But for that to happen, Jason Campbell will have to come out of the game first. Head coach Tom Cable named Campbell as his starter for week six on Friday. He said Gradkowski threw a few balls during the day's practice for the first time since injuring his right shoulder during last week's game versus San Diego. He also said if Gradkowski feels good enough during pregame warmups, he could be the No. 2 quarterback.
Campbell was benched in week two and lost his starting job from there. He was forced back into action Sunday due to Gradkowski's injury and played safe, completing 13 of 18 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown.
In related Raiders news, running back Darren McFadden
is listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury. He went through limited practice Friday, but the odds of him playing look bleak.
Fantasy Analysis:
Cable has said McFadden won't play unless he is 100 percent. McFadden said after Friday's practice that he doesn't feel 100 percent. So, with the help of some simple logic, I feel comfortable assuming he will be unavailable Sunday. Like I wrote yesterday, Michael Bush
is a fine flex play against the Niners as he should touch the ball around 20 times. We'll see how McFadden feels next week.
Campbell should be avoided in fantasy unless you are more desperate than desperate.
