Browns' McCoy to make debut against Pittsburgh

According to ESPN's James Walker, "it is now official" that Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Colt McCoy @ColtMcCoy will be starting against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. McCoy was reportedly informed of this decision earlier in the week that he would start. Pittsburgh presents a tough opponent for such a debut. They rank fourth in the NFL in total defense. Unless something drastically changes with their two injured quarterbacks, Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme, McCoy will start. Head coach Eric Mangini told the press this week that he's "leaning" in that direction (to start McCoy) but there still has been no public announcement by the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Analysis:

In a game where the offense may want to lean on their running game to protect their young rookie, this game presents the worst of matchups. Pittsburgh has the toughest run defense in the NFL by over 10 yards per game, only allowing 62.2 ypg. Emotions will be high in Pittsburgh for the return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger so this is a nightmare real-life fantasy situation for McCoy. Not to mention, this is a home game for the Steelers. McCoy is definitely someone to grab in keeper leagues, but he should firmly be on the bench as he's easily one of the worst fantasy starts in Week 6.
