Bengals' Ochocinco disappointed in his own performance, vows turnaround
Despite the Cincinnati Bengals being on a bye this week, wide receiver Chad Ochocinco told Bengals.com that he wants to revert to "the Chad of old." Ochocinco accepts clame for losing the game for the Bengals in Week 5 by dropping a 25-yard grab over the middle which would have set Cincinnati up with a game-winning field goal attempt. "That's a time when a superstar is supposed to make that play, and the field-goal kicker comes on and kicks it. And I miss it," said Ochocinco. "That's what I mean about the confidence. A confident Chad catches the ball 10 out of 10 (times)." Ochocinco is currently second on the team in both receptions and yards behind his new teammate Terrell Owens.
Fantasy Analysis:
The press is reading into this as Ochocinco being upset that Owens is doing more, getting more targets and generally playing better. And while, it's undeniable that every player wishes he could be playing better, even on his best week, twisting this into a team issue is a stretch. These guys are best friends, they get each other. Sure, there probably is a sense of friendly competition between them both but they both want what's for each other and the team as well as themselves. It makes no sense to spin this in a negative light. When Ochocinco has extra motivation, he's as good as they come and he's already proven last season that he's still got it. Although his numbers are a little down, there's no reason for concern for fantasy owners.
